Award winning artist, Pam Wetzel, started painting in 2015, after losing her childhood sweetheart and husband of more than five decades. The new venture afforded her an opportunity to meet other artists in her community of Dunwoody, Georgia, where she has resided for 40 years. Classes at Spruill Center for the Arts helped her develop her fresh, expressive ink-and-wash style. In recent years, Pam has traveled domestically and abroad, honing her technique with world-famous watercolorists like Karlyn Holman and Fabio Cembranelli, and Janet and Steve Rogers. Some of her favorite getaways, including the beaches of Florida, the mountains of Vail, the coast of Maine, the vineyards of Sonoma, the hills of Tuscany, and the canals of Venice have provided inspiration for her original paintings, notecard collections, giclee prints, home decor pillows and watercolor tea towels. Pam’s approach is all about capturing the beauty in everyday life in a loose and vibrant way. Never one to “stay within the lines,” she loves exploring the flora and food, the colors and textures of a life well-lived, shared with family and friends.
A portion of all MediaOchre Art proceeds are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Pam's Painting "Sunday in Burano" won First Prize, Gold Award, in the Il Chiostro 25th Anniversary Juried Art Exhibit.
